The Youth Ministry of Calvary Chapel Kendall
Hey family!
Yesterday morning, our guest speaker arrived at camp. Pastor Ken Graves, from Calvary Chapel in Bangor, Maine. If you went to the CCk service on Wednesday night, then you know how great this pastor is.
All of us knew that he was coming. Some of us just forgot. So when that big, booming voice of his sounded and came up and started teaching, we had to take a little bit to process what he was saying. Once he got rolling, there was no stopping him. He continued to teach and we just keep receiving what he had to say. Everything he said applied directly to our lives and explained so much of human creation.
He interacts really well with us, and sits with all of us at lunch. He was there for the night activities and watched in awe at the activities that we had to accomplish. He makes us laugh all the time, tells us stories and illustrations that are easy to understand, and he asks questions that he wants answers for from the audience. He kept teaching so long, in fact, that our games were cut short.
It was great to be around him, and he will be with us again today. I can’t wait to hear what he has to say to us about creation and our God and how to apply everything to our lives. God is doing a major work in us all. Keep praying for us, especially on this last day.
With much love,
Aimee
My prayer is that you guys at camp will receive as much as we did on Wednesday night. Ken Graves shared, through his experience, what our main focus as Christians should be. It re-focused me, for sure. May the Lord re-focus each and every youth, as He ministers also to those that are seeing His wonderful light for the first time. My daughter (Jenny) has a sunburned face! yikes! Sizzy, get her some sunscreen will you? LOL
Love you guys,
Susy
