The Youth Ministry of Calvary Chapel Kendall
Hello Uth nation parents and family… again(:
Yesterday and today have been as fun filled as ever. The games have been equally challenging and silly as before, involving tossing oil soaked 3 liter bottles filled with fruity sodas, to grabbing marbles with just feet, to slipping and sliding and grabbing water balloons, and dribbling a soccer ball down a zig zag plane. Its just been so fun. The teams are keeping together so well, and we’re all getting along great. So many of us have been able to open up to each other, and we all relate to each other well.
Last night was especially memorable. Pastor Jose did the teaching, and challenged us in our walks with the Lord. We then had a night of worship that was incredibly emotional for all of us. There was a wooden cross set up and index cards to write on. On these index cards, so many different things we all wanted to give to the Lord were written… and then nailed onto the cross. Pray that those things would stay on that cross, that we would never forget that our Savior died for the things we’re struggling with and that our experience here at camp would have a lasting impact; that it wouldn’t be just an emotional experience. Pray that this would be a wake up call for all of us that our Savior is coming soon and we need to about His business.
Today we also had an opportunity to get alone with God. We were allowed to go anywhere on the premises and just spend time with Him. During this time, I’m sure that many of us were shown things that we never would’ve imagined had we not had the opportunity to sit at His feet by ourselves and listen to His voice. Be encouraged that your kids are being fed the Word of God, and are being impacted and affected by it. Continue to pray for us, as we’re all learning about what God has for our lives, and how He wants to be the whole and center of it.
Pray for unity as we all bond together as a youth group. Pray for strength, wisdom and boldness for us to continually and passionately follow God with the fire that’s burning like crazy in all of us. Pray that we would be the generation that changes this world.
with much love,
aimee
