Thursday was as awesome as ever. The morning was opened up by devos and then worship all together. Jose read out of Psalm 111, and gave the campers an hour by themselves to allow God to speak to them and to reflect on all of the teachings that have been shared. It was a sweet time that God used to confirm things to them and just to speak to them. They were able to piece together all the things that God had been speaking specifically to them about and were able to give themselves fully to Him. It was a time to be still and know that He was God (Psalm 46:10).
Later on, the games continued, involving syrup, crackers, soda bottles, a slip-n-slide, and kiddie pools full of mud. The kids look crazy and messy and awesome (: (we’re uploading the pictures now, so we’ll give you the link to the album soon. Facebook has some too), and they’re having an awesome time.
The night teaching was incredible. George Dedesma shared with the kids from Joshua 5:12 to the end of Joshua 6. It was a classic story about faith in God and how He used the Israelites to bring down the walls of Jericho. Yet, George was able to cover the story with a depth that was captivating, and he made it easy to apply to life. God was totally speaking through George, and the campers received so much from the teaching. Thanks George! (:
Last night was also theme night. The theme was “Around the World” and we saw quite an array of costumes, from the expected to the totally ridiculous. It was a fun night as the kids complimented each others’ costumes consisting of Chinese, Arab, Hindu, Cowgirls, a gondolier, the third caballero, a satellite, a hot air balloon and even the equator showed up for the party (pictures are coming! (: ). The night games were a mix of Ninja tournaments and an eating game. After, we were able to hang out and spend time with one another, and it’s always a great time.
Today is the Mega Game, where all the teams play against each other in one big hulabaloo-palooza that is crazy and wacky and ridiculously fun. It’s going to be great. Keep praying for us, that the fire that was ignited in these kids would not burn out. That they would walk into their schools in August and boldly speak the gospel that has so permeated their lives this week. We love you all, we thank you all for the prayers, we’ll see you soon.
