The Youth Ministry of Calvary Chapel Kendall
We arrived at home yesterday, all at different times because 2 of the buses broke down. The first bus with the youngest kids arrived at 1:45pm, the older girls’ bus arrived at around 2pm and the boys’ bus arrived at 3:30pm. Pick up was filled with as much emotion as drop off, especially after the parents had heard what God was doing in the lives of their kids.
I’ve never had the feeling that this generation is truly chosen by God to change the world until this specific camp. God has chosen us, Uth Nation, to represent His name to all the earth. He has called us to go out into the world and change it, bring people to the knowledge of Him. By the looks of it, the lives changed during this camp are going to go out and affect more lives that will come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Many hearts of stone were replaced with hearts of flesh (Eze 36:26). God is doing a work in every single individual that attends Uth Nation, including the leaders. Kids are ministering to other kids. They are encouraging one another, praying for one another, and becoming a family. They are making decisions to abandon their old lives and start new ones, setting examples in their homes and to their families. They are standing up for what’s right and forsaking everything that used to make them stumble.
I pray, and I encourage you to do so also, that this year would be different. That this year, as the kids start school, they wouldn’t be afraid to stand up for what they believe in. That they would be bold and proclaim the gospel, both in word and in deed. That they would set an example of what it is to have faith in Jesus Christ, and that people would ask them about the change. That the change would evident and it would strike their peers as awe inspiring. That they would have the discernment to pick and choose the battles that they are faced with. That they would never think that they’re better than anyone else because of their salvation, but that they would take the gospel to the anyone and everyone. That they would be used by God in every way possible. That God would continue to reveal Himself to them. That God would set up divine appointments for them, and that they’d recognize them and courageously share whatever God would have them share. That they would be real and genuine to others, that others would be drawn to God’s kindness and to His redemption and salvation. That they would love on everyone, and pray for everyone. That they would have hearts to serve, hearts to listen, hearts to obey the will of God. That they would truly be a generation that seeks His face, counsel and wisdom.
Uth Nation has been challenged to take the gospel from the uttermost to the guttermost, as Pastor Pedro says. And we have taken up that challenge. Continue to pray for us, as we begin to prepare for the school year, where we’ll be faced with many challenges, many difficulties and many tribulations.
“I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” -John 16:33
with much love,
